i don't believe you

but yes, i think thrush was bang on the money when it said it was just a bit of nostalgia with the name rather than what they should have done with the engine instead

what they SHOULD have done was put the 24V engine into a sierra and make it RWD, then we could have had some fun

I think the twincam is a great engine to be fair. had five of them lol - sapph 2000e's fitted with these and they aren't ridiculously quick but they keep up with any other 2.0 within reason. they all used to average 35-45mpg as well on the trip computer.

that said some are worse than others :0

seen some make more than standard figures on the rollers and some make poor figures.

bearing in mind as well that they are pretty heavy engines...and the cars aint exactly light

not sure but probs more torquey than a pinto? anyone know what the figures are/>

the dohc 8 valve can be very powerfull with not that much hasle..
i have it in my mk1 escort running 10.91 secds @ 122 mph..

Love the mk1 escort.I take it the engine is turboed?


I think there a good engine but i think ford could of done more to them to get more power out of them.They should of all been 16v..
