My 205 block cracked the block wall on No.3 at 80,000 miles, 2,000 miles after it was stage III'd, mind you this was back in 1996 .

that's simply not true, not for any category of racing, including F1 (the reason that engines have to last more than one race now is due to the FIA trying to keep the budget down)
Budget was not a problem in the 1980's BTCC.....and its only goal during that particular race is to finish in one peice. Ford put a life span of three world championship length rallies on the original cossie block...after this time it was recommended that that block in question was no longer used (quoted from the 1988 Ford Motorsport prep manual and hence that simply quite true).
what do you mean 'budget was not a problem'? the budget was obviously not unlimited, there is a limit somewhere
Sorry, I didnt realise I had to be pedantic in my wording....ok, I ment, the internal costs to Ford for a new block and engine build when weighed against possible engine failure during a race were more than favorable towards a new engine build, imo.

8) Big wing sump with gated baffles

9) Every sensor, seal, bush, gasket and bearing brand new, valve guides replaced.

That should see you right, and be a drivable RELIABLE 500bhp and good torque

Talk to the right people (Ian M500 Cos ), and this spec should be fairly sensible to achive ŁŁŁ wise, if you have good doner parts to start with. If assembled correctly it will be a monster

Also worth considering is the ancills you will have to upgrade, suspension, drivetrain (box, diffs, clutch), fuel system ( pumps, lines, filters), cooling system, intercooler, brakes, wiring loom will 90% need changing due to poor signals from a 15 year old loom, fuel pump wiring for the same reasons, hoses, headertanks, etc etc...

To get a car to a sensible spec for a 500BHP car will leave you very little change out of 10K....if any, probably cost a LOT more when you consider the whole package..

Again, take it from someone that knows
What management are you using with that? None is mentioned!

I'm just having a "500 bhp" engine built and you've covered most things!

But missed where and how it is mapped!

Spill the beans!
