Insurance Question
I'm thinking of coming out of the company car scheme and using my own car but have a question regarding the insurance. I have 3 years NCD from my last private car but I had an accident (my fault) while I had my company car.
Do I have to confess when getting a quote as it wasnt on my policy?? In other words could they trace I have had a claim??
Probably a silly question but just wondered

Yes they can trace you mate, if you don't tell them and they find out then it's a non-disclosure of what they call a material fact.
They can find you by doing a 'CUE' check, Claims Underwriting Exchange, basically a central database where all accidents are recorded.
Tell the truth, it's easier in the long run, your 3 years ncd is still valid as it was on another policy but you do have to disclose the claim

christ,,,, does that also count if the company is selfinsured as i had a "small" prang in the group managers ranger,,, wrote off a scorpio
never told my insurance company
oh and i also drove a nissan pathfinder into a mini digger and it fell off its dirt mound
not sure if we claimed though as it was the building companys directors x-trail i was delivering when i crashed it into one of his diggers,,,, not all irish men have a sence of humor in the discovery of bad news
actually it was REALLY pissed when i sugested putting the digger back on its tracks with the 7 mile on the clock 4x4 tax dodge motor with the aid of a rope tied to the fucked front end and set it to 4wd and put it in reverse

As said they all share info, usually stated at the beginning of telephone call recorded message.
It is NOT however illegal for the insureres to take your money/give cover KNOWING you have lied then refuse to pay out in the event of a claim!!

They don't wait until you've had a claim ffs, they will write to you making you aware of the non-disclosure as soon they find out themselves!
You then either pay the additonal premium IF they still want the policy are at that point you walk away from the policy and pay a Time On Risk charge!
