Default Need a drill for the house, what to buy???

I am fed up of asking to borrow my mates drill when I wanna do little jobs, so wanna buy one. THing is I aint got a clue. I need something for general house hold use and not bothered whether its cordless or mains, as long as its got a bit of guts.

was given a JCB drill as a present, I drilled one 7mm hole and threw it out of my window and watched it smash into little peices, once you have used a 'proper' drill you wont use shite.

this is a beauty kit:

cant find the 4-1 on ebay thou

Dewalt and Makita are for everyday trade use...

If you just want an odd job drill buy a bosch or performance pro drill.

just get a mains power bosch or makita for under a ton anf will last for years. Get an SDS one tho much better although the drill bits are abit more expensive. Thing with cordlesses even goods one is they only last a few years before the batteries give up even the newer tyre especially if it only gets used once a month. A mains SDS drill has loads of guts and will drill the hardest of walls.

Bosh all the way.....

Im a window blind fitter and use a 12v Bosch GSR Had it for about 18months now and still going strong.... Cant fault it, batteres are still 100%

Use the drill everyday for drilling into steel must do altleast 60 holes a day so it gets lots of heavy use!

Also Its nice and light and pretty small with lots of kick to it, unlike the 18v JCB rubbish....

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BOSCH-GSR-12V-...QQcmdZViewItem

Thats where i got mine from... I put the best offer in for £60 and won

Dewalt! you are mad, Glorified Black and Decker. I have 2 18v. Had an 18v Makita but it didn't like hammer mode and used to eat gearboxes. When the Dewalts soon die I will go for Bosch. I have Bosch SDS and circ saw and cant fault them, superb chargers too
