Off to New York Friday evening to start our 2 week trip in the states!! Already got our Empire State Building tickets and booked Phantom of the Opera on Broadway. Got a list of a few other places to visit, Statue of Liberty, Ground Zero, Rockafella, Times Sq, Central Park etc but am sure we have missed some.

Any other suggestions? Also some suggestions of some nice restaurants in Manhatten!

Im just back from new york its great.
To do
Broadway we went n saw beauty & the beast it was good
Empire state is also good i looked over the side & got tingly feet so high
Go into soho good shops
ground zero a bit eary
Get the central park horse ride & get them to drop you off at strawberry feilds (john lennon memorial garden with a big shrine on the ground ect really nice & straight across the road is where yoko ono lives (where he got shot) dustin hoffman also lives in the floor below yoko ono.Massive big appartments.
Subway is crazy ppl just come on trains & start singing & reciting poetry they are all crazy.
Central park is cool to go a walk you see it all there ppl brake dancing practicing karate ect .. shooting movies & music videos..
Go & see statue of liberty
The open top bus tours are great get the RED bus tho they have a guy explaning the places to you the yellow busses have not & are boaring.
Go to maddison square gardens get the tour its not expensive but very impressive.
There is soo much to do the taxi drivers are mental every man for them selfs
The big hard rock cafe & planet hollywood is great.
The list goes on & on.
We went to this pub a waiter reccomended he said for the ultimate american experiance DOC HOLLIDAYS what a place we just got a taxi to it its like something from the wild west but we had a great time.

And eat in Planet hollywood in Times square. They do a massive steak. It's a monster

 

We stayed in astor on the park 465 upper west side but wouldnt reccomend it.to far away & not upto much.

All the pics are on my girlfreinds camera i will try get them on a disc & get them posted

I went for 7 nights & could have done with a few more days i really wanted to go to montogomery in orange county in new york to go & see OCC orange county choppers but sadly never got round to it. I will go back & make it one of the first thing i will do.

When i went to New York in march for the missus and my birthday! A good friend done me a document of where to go and what to see. He goes to NY about 5 times a year so he knows where everything is, it was handy! I printed it off carried it with me and it was wicked!

We got 4 1/2 days in NYK then flying down to Clearwater / Tampa for 4 days, then over to Orlando for 8 days!!!!

The sheets already printed mate . Found the Planet Hollywood restaurant on toptable.co.uk so already on the list!

While you're in Tampa you've got to go to Busch gardens and ride Sheikra, best ride ever!
They supply you with free beer all day as well

 

Believe me the Planet Hollywood steak is a fuckin monster! (Look at the Sony Ericsson for a bit of scale LOL )



It was fuckin lush (But was the most expensive thing on the menu)

 

Quality! We've already got our Busch gardens tickets!!!! Went there years ago when the Kumba rollercoaster was just opened!!! One of the best parks in FL I reckon!!

 

There were 4 of us me & the missus & my mate & his missus cost us Ł3400 for the 4 of us for 7 nights with a direct flight from glasgow it would have been cheaper if we flew to heathrow but we didnt want to get on & off flights.we ran out of time but we had to please the 4 of us if it were just me & the the missus we would have had plenty of time for seeing what we wanted.

 

I have been a few times, and funnily enough I just got back Chris, stayed at West 35th street, 1 up from Empire state building.
definately do the following.
Helicopter from Pier 2 do the 15 minute one. Well worth the money
Eat at the Red Eye Grill.
Go in the M&M shop.....trust me it's cool

The rest of the things you listed are pretty cool too.

 

am i the only one who didn't like new york? just thought it wasn't all it was cracked upto be, but i spose it might of been because i was 16 when i went and with the parents

stayed one block down from the empire state building, if theres anything to avoid then its the macdonalds opposite the empire state building on 5th ave, was disgusting

and even tho its a toy shop check out fao schwartz, its the toy shop in the film big

 

Try to stop on Ellis island when doing Liberty - it's where a lot of immigrants first landed in America and really quite cool.

The absolute nuts Smit!!!!! Thouroughly enjoyed NYK and Florida! Missus has the camera with the pics but will nick it tonight and get uploading! Only thing I didnt like was the Louis Vuitton shop on fifth avenue, she milked the credit card
