how long does it take to get rid of a ear infection
went swimming today after the gym and when i went underwater my right ear poped like a bitch,,,,, now im almost in tears in pain 
how long till its gone and what medication do i need to take
and how the fuck did it happen so sudden
seriously need help as im at work tommorow and im in pain,,,, soo sooo much pain

No, really DONT do that, I did that cleaning my ears out the day before my hols, couldn't hear for shit for 5 days! and ear was ringing like fook, though't i'd burst my ear drum at one point!

Keep swallowing, your ears should click (it's the tubes draining fluid)
In your case only one ear will click, repeat till both click.

i got a perforated ear drum from a cold about 5 years ago

never been right since neither, even today every time i yawn i get a twinge
docs and drugs. nd as much as you want to stuff a bud down it ffs dont!!

Get down the doc's surgury 1st thing in the morning or if it gets real bad go to the A&E in you're local hospital.DO NOT try any home grown treatments as the ear in a sensitive delicate organ,so NO punch's to the ear,cotton buds etc etc.Hope you get some pain relief quick,Micky.

When water gets stuck in the ear canal after swimming or bathing, the water can irritate the skin of the ear canal. This irritated skin then gets invaded by bacteria. This infection will fester until it builds up enough to cause pain. This can occur over a few hours, or can take several days.
You need to get to your GP and get some anitbiotics and eardrops.

cheers for the replies, i know i gotta go doctors first thing ( hence me posting this early as they dont open till 8:30 ) but wanna know how long it takes to heal or atleast get rid of pain as i cant really take time off work as ive just started a new job and dont think a month into it taking time off work sick is a good idea
will the pain be gone in a day or two ?
ive got tramadol for pain relief on my back but that aint working for shite on my ear

cool, the missus has ear problems due to some gromit installed to open the tube fromm the mouth to the ear thingy but i aint had a ear infection since i was a kid and all i remember was crying in my sleep and being tired and in mental pain
im in pain now but i seem to be handling it a bit
doctors at 10 anyway so that should solve it i hope
