Default Can you change a gt30 from external to internal wastegate

Just wondered as i have a gt30 sat there for my golf which is externally gated but i'm thinking of slapping it on the cossie but wouldn'y mind making it a simple install by making it internally gated.

Ps the turbo is brand fire new suplied by reyland, so is a decent unit

Not without a fair amount of hassle, as you need a different hotside housing for it that contains a wastegate.

Just fit an Internally 'Gated Turbine Housing. These are quite pricey though and rarely come up second-hand. You are most probably looking at the wrong side of Ł200, maybe even closer to Ł300 for a new proper Garrett housing.

That said, I have 2 sizes of Internally 'Gated T25/T28 flanged GT30 Turbine Housing which may be up for sale in the not-too-distant future.

So basically it would probably be just as cheap buying the external gate manifold and 46mm wastgate from reyland and the jobs a buck.

What do you do about the pipe from the gate, is it just a open ended bit of pipe or does it need to be flanged into the downpipe?????????

screamer pipe is literally just a bit of pipe mate, any decent exhaust place should be able to know you one up very easily.

its loud whenever the wastegate is open, so not until when you are running quite a bit boost.
