the car is a F Reg S2 !

ive just changed my backbox from a magnex to a 4" outward rolled. ive been told the car had a full magnex system and a bit of "flexi pipe" at the front to meet up with the downpipe .

now i was told this is because it has a "cossie" turbo fitted to the engine and it had to have a different downpipe fitted to it cos the normal S2 wont fit ???

now what i want to know is , is the flexi pipe in the pic just a bit of pipe or is it a form of silencer box ?? cos the exhaust just dont seem loud compared to other S2's ive had with the same backbox ??

doubt it will silence at all,

the back box may get louder after a good run as they fill with shit,

turbo housing can affect noise aswell

If you have a cossie turbo.

Diff down pipe- but mostly the end is cut off and welded on to the RST exhaust.

That flexy point is standard on a magnex exhaust- not on the mongoose

Helps to keep the exhaust from pulling out as the engine rocks back and forth- which CAN be a problem on the Mongoose.

you may have the magnex system with 2 boxes, the backbox & another box in front of the rear arm!! most of the 3" tailpipe systems were like this where as most of the 4" tailpipe magnes systems only had a rear box.

The flexi section is std fit on RST Magnex systems and isn't any form of silencing

the flexi pipe is there to stop the downpipe shearing off fromt he turbo as the engine rocks back and fourth on the enigne mounts.

it wont act as a silencer tho

I agree with SteveB i had one on my old S2 which had a full magnex system on it

lovely . cheers for the replies . glad it aint a silencer. what looks weird with the sump? im no good with cars so i wouldnt know weather its good or bad ?
