Default ram

hi all, why is it so difficult to get hold of some ram for a computer!

can someone explain the difference between these 2 please:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...9375&rd=1&rd=1

http://shop.kingston.com/partsinfo.a...TH-XW4200AN/1G

I thought the ebay one would fit my comp but the bloody gap in the ram is 3 mm away from my original cards.

thanks

There isn't a difference between the two. They are both DDR2 modules so they should both be 240 pin and have the gap in the same place.

Unless you are not fitting it correctly or maybe try another RAM slot? Try turning the other way round perhaps? There shouldn't be any difference though

That would mean you need DDR memory not DDR2.

Download CPU-Z and check the exact specs of your current memory.

I was going to mention the difference between DDR and DDR2 but since both modules are the same then I assumed you did realize what DDR2 was

Should have asked before getting them

Get some DDR2 ram, make sure the speed matches, unless you want to pay more for faster ram but it doesnt make much difference really so id go with the same speed you have now
