i don't see how people can knock the guy? 
When the rest of the England shambles look lost, lazy and downright uninspired, he ALWAYS runs his arse off chasing the ball down and tackling, and getting forward... I used to hate the guy, along with the rest of the country when he got sent off against Argentina, but he has proved he is probably the best player in the squad, and he has actually got some PASSION for playing for England, most of the other players seem to lack this and IMHO it is one of the main reasons we play so poorly, the players just don't seem to put in the same effort and determniation as they do for thier clubs..... Becks ALWAYS runs himself into the ground, and his all round game isn't too shabby really is it?

to be fair to becks, he's a quality player, and england are better side with him in it, but unfortunatly, i cant see him being the answer to englands prayers, and now the media have got the perfect scapegoat if doesnt work out.

what we need is a good TEAM effort, and to actually play with drive ambition and passion, and a bit of effort, not just hump the ball 50 yards over the top or play side side like normally do ... I still recon a 3-5-2 with wingbacks would be englands strongest formation....
