OK, Just got my Ps3 and want to know what resolution to use for best picture etc...

Its connected via HDMI but my TV dont support 1080p I can get

1080i
or
720p

Which one is best for gaming and dvds etc????

720p . The internal scaler in the ps3 must have cost 0.0002p as it is rubbish, it can't scale 720p to 1080i properly, it ends up making the picture worse than the 720p original and seeing as very few games will be rendering to the full native 1080p just leave it at 720p and be done with it.

1080i uses interlacing which isnt as goof for moving pictures IIRC

You can get a 1080p Samsung 40" for £999.99 from play last time I looked

Although 720p still looks the tits
