Default cosworth cam identification?

right have a bit of a wierd problem

a friednd has just phoned up and asked if i could tell him which is inlet and and hwich is exhaust

now i know one should have a gorrove in it and one shouldnt

so looked at my head and both my cams have grooves in

could someone help me out as surely this isnt correct

the car was running perfectly before i dismantle dthe thing and it was completely standard not a single mod at all

any ideas as im stumped, also need to know whats inlet and exhaust aswell please

iirc the inlet cam has the little groove in

can i get away with this? or am i best looking at getting an exhaust

really stuck on what to do now

the groves are under the cam caps mate

if you remove the caps the grove is under there, on the inlet cam. Not the groves your looking at mate.

yeah my inlet have grooves in them and the exhaust dont

didnt know that the grooves were there

so kind of got worried after seeing them 2 grooves in teh cams picture

thanks lads, im safe for now then so i can crack on and build the engine up again once my gaskets turn up
