they look spot on, Lee always refurbs his wheels and paints them himself, its simple enough to do

Sould never leave that amount of time before you apply laquer should be done in less than 8hrs of applying the colour and shouldnt rub down the mettalic either as it causes the mettalic colour to scratch etc and not look too good really

And well done m8 good first attempt

heres a hint for you for next time, deflate the tyres and then you can get the masking tape right behind the wheel so you dont end up with a silver lip on the very edge of the alloy, inflate them once the lacquer has dried

no worries, i only said it because when Lee refurbished my wheels on my golf anthracite we had to do it because the tyres had a rim protector on and it was getting in the way

yeah, the r888 tyres have a wide side wall, which act as a rim protector

what is says on the paint tin is "allow at least 24 hours for the base colour to dry.use 1200 grit wet and dry to achieve a matt finish as the removal of the glossy paint finish is necessary to achieve the correct laqured finish"

Never mind what is says on the tin m8 been a sprayer for 12yrs now and should never leave that long thats how you get laquer peel etc when people use a power washer on there car.As soon as its dry laquer should go on wether its spray cans or proper mixed paint from a gun

no, never leave it that amount of time and NEVER rub the basecoat down before laquer is applied...i work in a car bodyshop as a sprayer and paint everyday....if you did this process then each wheel, car etc would take over 24hours to dry...think about it.
apply the basecoat, leave for around 10 mins and apply the laquer, you only have to wait for a the bascoat to be dry if you are using waterbased paint, which it doesnt look like you are...
thanks

BY THE WAY....you did a nice job mate, well done! look bang on!
