Anyone here from Southsea(or Portsmouth)?
Hi all, as some of you that know me are aware, I've just changed Brigades and I'm now in Hampshire Fire and Rescue Just found out I'm getting posted to Southsea, Anyone from down that way? What's it like? Is it a busy place? Good nightlife? House prices? I'll be commuting there for the time being, but may move down there in the long term.
What do you know?
Andy

its not too bad here nightlife is good all the clubs are situated around guildhall square and commercial road (shopping area)
house prices are a average of 160k
try and stay away from renting or buyin in buckland, portsea, somers town, just out of town is cosham farlington and drayton which are good areas, stay away from paulsgrove and leigh park (im a ex parkie)
southsea is good u get the usual noise from drunk people but ive never had any probs most of southsea is permit parking
along the seafront u got the pier, the pyramids swiming pool, d day, museum, southsea castle, southsea skatepark (where i spend most of my time) lots of wide open grass spaces for playin footie etc
albert road is full of pubs and small independant type shops and takeaways
palmerston road is full of differnt types of shops and a few pubs
the fair is the usual hang out for the boyracers and portsdown hill burger van
theres a few of us with cossies, erst and frst's and goodwood is just down the road
house prices are a average of 160k

My mate lived there for 3 years when @ portsmouth Uni. Went a few times and is ok. Gunwharf keys is good for cheapo shopping by day and drinking by night. P'mouth itself can be bit rough (coming from a brummie lad! )

There is nothing wrong with paulsgrove everyone up here speaks english, where as i work in southsea and its full of urdie gurdies and such like. If you live in southsea your either a student, an illegal immogrant, a drugy, alky, or the minority. kev you know its a shit hole and so is the rest of the town. You would be much better up here on the hill.
