Lets talk about Nitrous/ show us ya system
there seems to be a distinct lack of Nitrous related talk on here, considering this is a fast car forum
why is that?
I am contemplating re-instating my gas to help on a forthcoming top speed run
who are the experts on here? Chip I think is one...
any specifics to do with cossie engines and Gas?
what do I look for mixture wise on my wideband when gassing it?
etc
and can we see some pictures of your set-up please

lloyd that's the same kit as mine, Wizards
what jets you using? I have 75hp jets
I'm concerned about my plugs disippating the heat at top speed as they are only 071's
what do people recommend?
just been on the wizards website and they say use some cooler plugs with a shorter ground strap
but what?
also, can't seem to find anyone who will set mine up
tuners don't like it because I am wasted spark on a wet system which I know is
So waiting for coil on plug to be invented

LLoyd, I would like to ask something else as I know you're into aeroquip style hoses....
the standard fitting for the 5mm fuel feed to the pulsoid,
wizards supply a push fit adaptor
how do you interface that to -6 JIC hose setup?
cheers

I think the risk of explosion is pretty much the same
it's when you get a misfire....
Roosie come to the next norfolk meet
we can both put our ALS on at the drive thru McDonalds
it's been months since I've caused an evacuation there

Obviously inlet temps drop loads as the liquid turns to gas, but the extra combustion generates a lot more heat, after all that's where the power comes from?

I haven't seen what mod Stu is recommending, but i have opened up the holes in my ISCV with a file
that's easily done
but i wanna get full spec when a suitable valve is available

Happily retired
I run a 200 shot direct to each port & this is backed up with a 100bar (1500psi) 'push' of Nitrogen that ensure a regulated pressure of 960psi for as long as the gas is on, normally pressure drop is the big problem when on the throttle for 25secs or more.
When fitted it was the only such system on a road car in the uk as its from drag racing , results were truely staggering 170-180mph in 1.9secs when activated.
Looking for pictures but at the mo cant find any.

Rod's car has probably got the most "complete" nitrous instalation that is possible with current technology, you cant really get better than that.
The ground strap on the plug is the bit of metal sticking out and going round at 90 degrees, sometimes we cut t his shorter and put the bend in lower down, to minimise the amount of metal in the chamber, smaller gaps is same principle as with boost, just to allow the spark to be able to jump through the dense charge.
Euan, EGT's are effected on gas the same way they are on boost, ie the mixture is the most imporant thing, you could increase the BHP of a car at the same time as dropping the EGT's if you run it rich, but if you ran it lean enough to maintain or even slightly increse the EGT's then you could potentially make more power than on the rich setup, but likewise with a turbo setup you are increasing the risk of failure as you get leaner.

Its another possibility, but on something like a YB with a dizzy where it is and the leads resting against the metal manifold etc you need to be careful the MSD doesnt actually make things worse by making the spark so strong it gets out elsewhere!
Rod used a big autronic CDi unit on his to get a good spark, similar principle, but was on coilpacks.

Puddy, nicely done mate
Have you lost the resistance in the rotor arm too, thats a useful trick on dizzy cars.
