How much you want to spend?
Best: Custom made ones like Arias(?) etc
VFM: Set of vauxhall calibra pistons. Either new or with a couple of hundred miles on from PhilM. Aparantly these have a tendancy to do the ring lands over 300bhp.
I used to think RS200 pistons were good, BSW used to use them (not in mine) but on chatting to Karl they are skimmed too much to get desired CR and there isn't enough meat on them.
I'm sure someone more technical will be able to fill you in.

Didn't even bother going for the MOT mate.
I'm not actually sure what the problem is with the engine yet.
It could be 1 of a number of things: Turbo, Pistons, Head Gasket etc.
Personally i think its the new turbo or head gasket, but i'm going to strip the engine down tonight which should tell me where the oil was coming from.
I'm just after opinins on the pistons encase it is them.
I've been told JE Pistons are the best.

I already have the Accralites in my engine, but have been told they tend to fail.
I'm just wondering what other pistons are avaliable for this engine and what peoples experiences are.

It was the early Accralite pistons that had a problem so yours will be fine.
This is the email from them yesterday:...

The design of the Zetec piston has changed now, as you probably know the
first Zetec pistons were very thin skirt.
Now they have a lot thicker skirt, which makes them heavier but still
lighter than the original also a lot stronger.
If you require any further information please do not hesitate to contact us.
