What the hell is an E cheque
No i think this is maybe one option before you get properly verified? I paid for a phone once and clicked on e cheque which takes like 5 days to clear. I needed the phone asap as i was going abroad. Paid the guy twice and he sent money back when "cheque" cleared. Lucky that he was honest

They are legal tender I think Dan, how I don't know but they've been around a little while!
Give your bank a call and see what you've got to do with it, like E-tickets from Airlines etc, similar sort of thing I think

We've received quite a few e-cheques now. They are a pain because they can take ages to clear - but they pretty much work the same as any money received via Paypal, it is just that the money is not cleared straight away.
Definitely don't send the goods until it has cleared. We have had an e-cheque not clear previously, so the buyer had to pay us again.
As said above - it is something do not with the buyer not having a fully verified Paypal account.
Cheers,
Natalie

just when you thought the most annoying useless piece of paper in the world which takes 5 days to clar couldn't possibly be bettered, or worsened as the case my be
paypal.......(love them) came up with e-cheque.
Basically, its probably because the buyers card details have expired, so instead of instantly debiting the money it has to manually transfer the money which takes the best part of 2 fucking weeks
A PM to ther buyer may make them aware, they may have just forgotten their card has expired, or sitck with e-cheque, you'll get another email when it clears, dont' send anything until you have that email though.......

e cheques are a pain
its basically when that person doesnt have enough funds in there account
so they take it out of there bank account instead, but usually its instant bank transfer, but on certain transfers or email address paypal will only allow either e cheques or credit cards
obviously that person didnt want to use the credit card

as i had it yesterday
i wanted to send Ł80 40 out of paypal and 40 out of bank
usually it does instant bank transfer
but only gave me the option of credit card or e cheque
i phoned paypal up and they said its because of this transaction or email address that they wont allow instant bank transfer on this transaction, but if was to make another transaction to someone else then it woud be instant bank transfer

usually it takes it out my bank as my bank comes 1st before credit card as i swapped it over and made it priority
but for some reason yesterday it was either e cheque or credit card

Dan mate as long as they've sent the e-cheque all should be well, they dont have any option to cancel.
All the ones ive ever been sent were fine but dont send anything til it clears.
I did actually have considerable problems with ebay just before xmas which caused me great hassle, and i ended up sending an item that had been paid for with an e-cheque, but it still cleared fine, i was worried when i realised the mistake but all was well
