Default Tips on organising a meet?

Hello,
I started a very basic forum for performance cars in the southeast in February and it seems to be going quite well. I'm organising our first meeting as we have nearly 100 members at the moment and rising.
We're trying our best to steer clear of the chav crooze scene, especially with recent accidents and trying to keep it for perfomance cars and enthusiasts who basically know better than to hoon about.
We're meeting at Pease Pottage Service station on the M23 at mid-day on Sunday May the 20th along with East Sussex Scoobies to get the numbers up, and possibly meeting another forum later on in the afternoon.
Pease Pottage is Here

We've got a couple of show cars as well as my scoob, but we're after a few Ford owners in the area as well to represent the Ford badge.

Are there any meet veteran's out there who have any tips on arranging future events?

Thanks

find place with a big car park, pub or the like, approach owners and express an interest in possibly using it.
do not mention modified cars as it puts people off letting you. mention it is a meeting of like minded car enthusiasts.
spend ages convincing them it is a good idea and mention that people will possibly buy food drinks etc so schedule it on a nice quiet evening.
post up loads of rules telling people to please behave etc etc...
then feel totallay annoyed that some stupid scrote has ruined all you hard work by turning up in a clapped out shed and proceded to wheelspin up and down the carpark all night.
owners then express a total disinterest in you ever going there again..

back to start....

to be honest they are the hardest bits of organising a car meet.... hth

This is the type of person i am doing my best to try and avoid. The car park owners are fine with it, in fact quite a few clubs hold meets at the same venue.

I think if you want to avoid the Cruise Scene. Then have your meets early Sunday morning. Firstly because the traffics lighter and secondly you have to "Be bovvered" to go.

Look at Goodwoods Breakfast Club for example.

Impossible, sir. It's in Johnson's underwear.

Mid-day's pretty early for them. i would have thought most were up "DJ'ing" all night or putting "Urban Tattoo" decal's on their rear windscreen.
