Default increasing rear beam size.

After a bit of help!

been offered the chance to snap up a few extra bits for the car, and as im looking to increase my rear diff size what bits do i need to source.

obviously i need a 2wd rear beam, but from there on what can i use to connect it all together?

does the escort cos prop fit up to a 2wd beam and diff?

what arms do i use, 2wd or 4wd?

what outer hubs will i use?

what driveshafts?

and/or anything else ive overlooked...
after an ideal complete and comprehensive list of whats needed.

Cheers.

Dave.
does the whole rear assembly fit then, and bolt up to the 4x4 prop?

even if i do go the 2wd route im still going to want to have it altered to the rose jointed and adjustable beam etc.

Dave, PM me a price mate - if you dont mind.

2wd drive I take thats not fwd

I've used esc cos arms, 2wd beam, 2wd diff, 2wd drive shafts, 'outer bearings'esc cos arb - I've fitted a 2wd prop to a 7inch so can see a prob with the other way.

I've read somewhere rally man or summit the esc cos arms are better

Hi

I changed from 7" to 7 1/2" rear diff. I even modified the rear beam. the arms were modified by D Osbourne.

The only parts I had to change were the two drive shafts and the outer joints. the shafts are now different lengths. The hubs are the same size and all bolt together.

The 7" shafts have 8 M8's, the 71/2" have 6 M10's.
To save weight you could only use 3 bolts, thats up to you of course.

prop shafts are the same.

cheers.

Couldn't you just use a Granada 7'5" Diff with 100mm output flanges and retain the 4x4 driveshafts?

Adds to the expence of sorcing 2wd driveshafts and a 7'5 Granada LSD diff can be bought for about Ł30 and it would probably had an easier life then a 2nd hand 2wd

kelv

if you fit a 2wd beam for the 7.5 diff you will need 2wd drive shafts

all the rest of your 4wd stuff fits the same ie trailing arms/anti roll bar /calipers/discs ect

so all you have to is change the beam and shafts
