Has anyone had Harveys 630bhp conversion done yet?That must be good for 200 with nos

 

surely the jenspeed/godfrey car with 780bhp has enough non NOS BHP to hit 200 ?? but does it matter if it was done with or without NOS anyways i can see it allready before we know it NOS will be cheating feck so the Evo that was at TOTB is defo cheating cos thats runs fecking methonal doesnt it

Why does everyone bang on about NOS being cheating?

The most common reason i hear is:
"It wont be fast when the NOS runs out"


Well ive got news for you guys:
"It wont be fast if your petrol runs out either"

So Maybe petrol is cheating too?

I personally see NOS as a great way to easily improve the power output of a more road friendly conversion.. its just a turbo in a bottle (Extra compressed air for the engine) so until Turbo's are classed as cheating, nos is cool with me

The object of the exersize was to get to 200mph, Which is what we achived there are no rules about it I even thought about farting to see if this would help but was unsure just in case I broke the rules ,
As I have said before the race is over I dont care if anyone beats it as I/Rod was the first ,

Martin we used a 130shot @ 1000psi so prob 150.
Used in 4th & 5th only it use only 15secs per Top Speed run .
Did 10 0-150ish sprints Nitrous on in 2nd .
Total use of Nitrous during the day on my Nitrous 'on' timer showed 2m 24s
so less than 2 bottles.
I wont own the car by Totb 4 mate so who knows or cares.

stil need big balls to do 200 in a saph, i wont go over 130 in a saph

Rod/mark..........how fast would the car have gone with "just" the 617bhp??????As Karl reckoned he did an easy 200mph with circa 650bhp (i am assuming Karl does NOT use NOS)

 

Phil, my engine runs 650bhp without Nos.

200mph is relatively effortless, and I believe this to be because in order to do 200mph only requires 8100rpm. Since my engine doesnt make peak torque until 7500rpm and then has very litte drop off in torque the bhp keeps rising, and thus its high rpm pull is superb. At present 8000+rpm misfires hamper any further increase in bhp + rpm and thus my next mod in the coming weeks is a move to coil packs to allow a further increase in boost. (obviously this is still awaiting the new transmission which is'nt long away now!)

Why is it one of the worst thing's I've said. I'm simply telling you that a 3dr cosworth with 650bhp with the gearing that suits it power band will pull 200mph without any fuss. Theres nothing effortless about building a 650bhp engine I can assure you, so in answer to your strange comment, the reason everyone can't do it because they don't have enough bhp/correct gearing etc.

Thats not to take anything away from Rod's fantastic result at brunters as that is within a confined distance.

People on this site seem to have a serious jealousy problem IMO, as if you even suggest you may have an engine thats a little special, people love to shoot you down.

I hope your claim about 200mph being effortless at 650hp was down a long hill and not at Brunters,
I belive that being able to do 200mph at Brunters and drive home take you from being a person that tunes cars to a Super tuner Tell me if I am wrong or is it that easy Anyway I have already been there and done that and the first to do it, So I dont realy care if another tuner does it or beats me But I will go on and continue to push the boundaries with Sunnys and Ranj's.

I was going to say that I bet I've forgotten more about designing an engine than you know, but that would be pure arrogance and dropping myself to your level so for now I'll simply congratulate you on an excellent result as brunters, as you've achieved your task you set out to achieve!

As I did'nt build my car to prove any singular task it's of no direct significance to me if I can or can't beat that record at Brunters, though I'm sure at some time next year I'll have a top speed run there.

Just an observation like

 

Karl all I will say I am not a talker action speaks louder than words, You havent seen me post that 200mph is easy if fact it is not,
Go on a prove you have forgotten more than I know , I have never been shy of a shootout and have always been up for them, You only have to invest a couple of K in to you car to be able to prove it and yourself,
However as you say you have more important things in your life than proving something you dont seem to care about proving, I wish you all the best in not doing so .
