Default FOOKIN SHOCKING!!!!!!!!!!!!

I bought my S1 last week & the steering had abit of play in it so i thought perhaps it's the ball joints or something as the previous owner said the steering rack had already been changed.

Anyway, after checking the car over properly i think i've found the problem.....................

THERES NO FUCKING BUSHES IN THE CLAMPS THAT HOLDS THE STEERING RACK ONTO THE BODY!!

Well there's one out of two but even thats shot

Ford dont do them anymore - does anyone know where i can get some from please?

Exactly the reason AJ's bushes have rotted away. You never done yours and the last owner never done his

id thought id have go at the deflex why the car was a shell

pain in the arse and couldnt be arsed so gave up

the car is stillgoing strong anyhow with std bushes in

Have you tried Powerflex or Deflex?

In fact if you PM Benn 304R he 'might' be selling the bushes from his S1 shell he's selling

And i know he has the rack ones, i fitted them

Superflex list steering rack bushes for MK3 Escort, don't know if the S1 are the same, but worth a call.

Don't thinks so, sounds like he's on about what was Deflex who seem to have resurfaced under a new name....

Powerflex are my bush of choice, but they don't have them listed.
