Default High pressure header cap

Are there any that fit the standard thread header cap? Tried a Bailey one and it was too small

What makes the header tank cap leak? too much water?

My header tank cap leaks after long runs, tried a few new caps aswell

Your radiator isnt up to the job, or you have a blown headgasket or other problem.

The standard cap is designed to leak if the pressure gets too high, if your pressure is too high then look at lowering the pressure not fitting a stronger cap.

How high are you filling it ?, it is designed to let pressure out over a certain point, not water out, but it will if it has too much in there to start with.
It is an expansion tank for the exapnsion of water when it gets hot, it gets hotter after you turn the engine off.
I always set mine at low, or even below on some depends on individual one but so long as you can see water there it's fine, it only ever expands due to heat, though it will go down a smidge in the winter, so just top up a tiny bit in winter.

Ah, good old fashioned "User error", that should be an automated reply from the board for how often its true, lol

I also overfilled mine when I first had a cossie as it had a ally tank with no levels marked and I wasnt aware just how much space they actually need to expand into, very common mistake from what Ive heard off others.

Good thing is though, it just finds its level and stays there then, so no harm done (unless you keep topping it up again of course!)

So where should it be filled to? Above the first pipe, second pipe, third pipe?

My alloy tank seemed to level out just below the second.

the second is where the level sensor is on a 3dr, so I guess it should be around there.

Paul where did you get the black header tank cap and do you have a finish code for it

They were used on the 3drs (as well as the black power steering caps) but also used on other cars.

Need to get a black power steering cap too but not sure if they were used on anything else
