Heard something happened to it, seen you chasing Martin around in the reyland escort on a mid-day session and then as you went into Quarry it sounded like it was badly mis-firing or something?!

Steve,
To answer for him, the car has been mapped by Karl on the previous engine spec (T38) and then recently by Stu on the T4 spec
I shall pop round and see Si this afternoon and see what the score is Heres hoping its not toooo serious!

As per my brother above.
I'm sure it's nowt with the mapping - AFRs have always been spot on boost with both Karl's and Stu's maps.
My car was rolling roaded last weekend at 467 bhp, and apart from the torque being a little low, the operator commented at how well the car went and revved. AFRs were also 11.1 to 11.3s on the rollers.
Being me, I expect it died because I was killing the engine racing behind Martin - I managed 1 lap near/ with him before it died.
With the helmet on, red mist on following Mr Hadland I saw and heard nothing overly untoward as I caned around. Just thought boost was dropping oddly, then rounded Quarry, nailed it and no power and death rattle plus missfire.
Deffo buggered something!
I'm in the garage now tidying it up ready for the strip down and cry

Seems unlikely its a mapping issue as its done 6000 miles, many of which were hard, including a trip to the ring, since it was mapped.
More likely oil in somewhere and lowering the octane rating and bringing it to the point of det or something like that.
I actually think Si B should start runing with a knock light possibly TBH

I reckon you should blame Martin for being infront of you
Plus a great opportunity to hop on the 'Hate Reyland' bandwagon

Not digging - just curious, as you seem to have no luck!

So for it to break is gutting, and not what I thought would happen (although given my track record, I did kind of expect failure of something at some point)
I think honestly, in my hunt for silly power (ie my 500 bhp target) I totally forgot to spend on everything around it. I was on a standard rad still, after 5 years of track driving in the Cossie, with high water temps even at Bedford in Feb, perhaps maybe I should have done some work on stuff other than the engine
Who know
For me, I can't afford to put it right, unless it's minor. The state of the spark plug in no 1 suggests it's not good news though.
I couldn't bring myself to pulling it apart today, so spent 4 hours tidying the garage today, in preperation for the big strip down of everything on the car. Within a week or so my car will be back to component form... never to be buggered by me again
