Ford Escort MKII 450hp N/A
The engine is completely build in Greece.
Its a YB Cossie engine destroked to 1914cc. Its has custom rods, Supertech custom build pistons for compression up to 17:1. The crank is steel again custom made. Dry sump. Throttle bodies and exhaust again custom made. It uses stand alone engine management, the Haltech E8 with sequential injection. Of course there are a lot of other technical specs which are not published....
Dynosheet from a dynopack dynamometer
Maximum power is 412hp @ 11500 rpm και 28.18 kgr torgue @ 9700 rpm with MotoGP fuel.
Transmission is a Quafie dox box with Quafie diff...
Photos!
I think this is the most powerful naturally aspirated YB engine i know under 2 liters!!!
Enjoy!!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wdYwclByOVo
And the 2 red escorts are a little less BHP than the Greek ones...both on slide injection though..

has less low/mid performance than a turbo engine of the same peak power, but n/a always will have less, but in the powerband this car will feel totally in another world to drive.

a turbo engine would have better low/mid/top torque, the only thing it would lack is in revs,,, but this isnt a problem with the correct gearbox

maybe its built to class regs?
or maybe, like most cars, he is doing it as he can.

Awesome car, but 211lb/ft of torque is a HELL of a lot for a 1.9 litre N/A engine.... is that even feasible?
I'm not questioning that there's clearly loads of development work gone into it, and it's a very impressive lump, but I've always been under the impression that even on a normally aspriated full race engine with £££££££££££s of development work, over 100lb/ft per litre is simply not going to happen.
