Fastest British FWD, RWD, 4WD? Fords or otherwise.
Anybody know any of these?
British based cars only, 0-60, 1/4's and Top speeds.
I know Sunny has the highest FWD Top Speed at 178, any more?
Fords or otherwise. Ford records good too though.
Thanks

the rs200 was done in 1984ish and was low 3's if memory serves with grahame hathaway at the wheel (it was in the guiness book of records as the fastest accelerating production car EVER!!!)

but the fastest car i've ever seen is the thrust. over 1200km/h.
from 0-160-km/h 30sec
but from 160-900km/h 20sec
to give you an idea of the brutal acceleration.
cheers

well i've just found on a site i use alot this!!!!! Is it true?
"Woooo
Many Cossies have done "unnoficial" 200mph+ on the Motorways (or the Gumball, lol) but the record at Bruntingthorpe (as theres not much room) with timing gear on was still in the high 190s.
Not any more!
Rod Tarrys RWD sapphire cossie, not stripped or lightened in any way, plain old 2litre cossie lump, is being timed today...
FIRST RUN TIMED 199.8 MPH
SECOND RUN 201.8 MPH
Thats not even at full power, far from it, as the exhuast is far too small so theres a 100+bhp more to come from that car!"
Not full power as exhaust is CRAP.
Its running a 3" mongoose system which is restrictive even at 500bhp (When they did back to back live maps with a 3" zorst on a 550bhp cossie then put a 4" one on, the 4" one needed around 20% extra fuel added top end, so can imagine the extra power potential when they build a 4" for it, esp as this cars 600+).
The engine was dynod at a bit over 600bhp (cant remember how much over) on pump fuel, but it has a 150bhp (or more, i forget) direct port Nitrous setup on it too, but the exhaust is that poor theres no point using that yet either
