theoretically they aren't available seperately, but go to your local factors and get the cheapest balljoints you can get with suitable size boots and swap them over ![Wink](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)
taking the MOT rules to the letter they shouldn't fail if there is no play in the joints, as that is what is specified to test, but in practice they are likely to fail and should be replaced anyway as it will lead to trouble if left.

does the arb have to come out etc ?

thanks very much tony, the only problem is that the car is going to liverpool for a little neatening up of the bodywork and is being mot'd while its there,
will have to see what happens but that ebay link you popped up looks like a winner
what do you need to get the ball joint from the hub ? do you just simply undo a nut and it all comes down etc ?
how do you know if the ball joint is knackered due to lack of grease ?
questions questions lol

sprung steel round clip ![Top](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/smile011.gif)
Looks like this lol
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Ford-Escort-Mk...QQcmdZViewItem
Just carefully take off your own and then replace it back on the new boot.
Pack with a bit of new CV grease if the ball joint is still ok
