Default Any Sky TV staff here? Question....

As the sky website is poo and i don't fancy waiting on hold for 45 minutes il ask here.

I have Sky+ Downstairs and multiroom with another Sky+ box in the bedroom.

The TV in the bedroom is HD ready and we often go to bed early and watch a Film or Lost episodes, how much am i looking at to have Sky HD in bedroom considering i already have multiroom at an extra £10 a month?

Any help or advice appreciated.

cost of the HD box is £299, and install is normally free when you take multiroom, which you already have, so I'm not sure what will happen with that. Since you already have Sky+ in the room you want it in, in theory you don't need it to be installed, but I don't think you can buy the box without install.

You will then need to pay an extra £10 a month to receive the HD channels.

Might be worth trying a retailer to see if you can get it cheaper, but still unsure as to what will happen with install.

I can try find out for you when I'm back in on Saturday what will happen in regards to the install charge?

He already has sky in both rooms, but he wants Sky HD, so he needs a whole new box

Running a cable wouldn't work either, because HD can only be transmitted through HDMI cables (or the other older type, can't remember what they are)

A normal co-ax wouldn't work

I had two sky+ boxes and at Xmas upgraded one of them to SKY HD, the box cost £149 and £10 extra a month for HD. I now have a total of 3 sky boxes in the house.

Total Cost

£149: Sky HD Box
£10: on top of your existing subscription

got to www.avforums.com for more info.

you did well there mate. I don't work in the sales bit so don't know if that was a special offer you got at Xmas, or whether that was the price because you already had multiroom.

As I say, I'll try to find out....

Smudge lad please do, but if it is £150 for the box il leave it.

Ive been with Sky about 15 years now and have the top package, you would think they would offer this to long term customers for a reduced price wouldnt you!

gotta remember mate, this is state of the art equipment that's only been on the market here less than a year. Even at £299 that's you getting it subsidised

The HD box is the first time since I've been there that new customers and existing customers have to pay the same price, exsiting usually have to pay more.

The other thing you gotta remember is that the reason the price is what it is, is because you're buying the equipment, it's yours to keep even after you are not with sky.

TBH, with the amount of channels that are HD, I don't think it's really worth it at the moment, but that's a personal thing, I'm hanging off until there are more channels available.

You're definitely looking at £150 at the very least I'm afraid mate
