how much boost can a rs500 t4 turbo be pushed boost wise what sort of boost are people using them at obviously not a standard t4

i have all ways thought they realy cant be pushed any more than 2.1 bar max how long have you been running it like that

Mines used to hold 2,5 to the limiter and did about 10k miles with no probs...turbo was recently stripped and rebuilt ans was in very good condtion.

Runs 2.2 bar now.

seen well over 40psi. They are well out of their efficinecy range, but like the T34, are a strong turbo.

look on ebay at the fools who say there t34 on greens is 400+bhp , so god knows what you will get told a T4 will produce ,, about 9000

aint that the truth paul, I remember about 8 years ago the grey saph I traded into you I took 3 lads out as they kept hassling me for a ride.

the car was approx. 320 hp tops and they all swore it was a 450+ hp car lol

at what point is it pointless winding up the boost anymore? On a very well built and specced engine when does the blower just move so far out of its efficient range and heat up air/become a restriction its just not worth it? 40, 42, 45 psi?
