Is this on a Mini running a C20LET motor? My mate told me they had started doing this with very impressive results!

Definately!

Cant see it being noticeably(sp) any more laggy than normal, especially if it is the C20LET which IMO isnt a very laggy engine anyway.

The standard C20LEt turbo is only small, from the pic Id say thats what it is.

IMO If it is a 1275 engine then I dont think you would be running big enough boost to notice or get lots of lag. Please correct me if Im wrong.

is there any old skool RSOC/ Very early PassionFord users that remember a very good friend of mine called Dave Edwards?!

ZVH turbo with long header manifold and turbo re-located to bulkhead area, his AVA powered monster was the first to use this idea if i remember, most of the time buletin board users said the car didnt exist.

unfortunatley Daves student funds and bulletin board roumers spread and the car died off,

where is it now???

any info and / or pics are greatly appreciated!

I think it will be fine as long as you can protect the turbo somehow.

There will be no need for an intercooler/large intercooler up front as the length of intake pipes under the car will cool the charged air as it passes through them. It will not be any laggier than if it was housed in the "normal" place with a big intercooler. Give it a try, like I said earlier a friend of mine said Minis are running Vauxhall C20LET motors like this with impressive reults.

If you do it mate let us know how you get on.

Chatting to mate's dad the other day whilst under a car on a ramp, he told me back in the eighties he built a handful of Porsche 924's with the turbo mounted under the floor like that, they were for Graham Hathaway.
