400 can be done on blacks or greys and a t34.63

450 would take a more money as i would be uprating a lot also would need a t38 or sod it and bolt up a T4 PMSL

If i was going 400bhp+ i would go for a T38 as a T34 will be working its balls off there, plenty of people do a chip off the shelf for this. There's also GT30 route but this will need live mapping.

Injector wise you have Blacks, Light Blues, and Greys.

i will be after the 400+mark whenivegot the rest done, bloody money and time at the mo.houses

Blacks have better spray patten, dont need fitting kit and generally meant to be a better design, flow rate wise similar so i believe.

Stu does rate the blacks

there's a hell of a lot of stuff tbh needed for over 400bhp, especially to be reliable too.

if it's 4x4 i wouldn't advise it anyhow as he WILL break gearboxes very often!!!

i'm currently running around 420bhp on ;

Greys
T38
headwork ( mine is overkill but you'll defo need some porting and maybe a bd14 inlet cam or similar )
WRC head gasket

tbh there's far too much to mention, but it's gonna cost a pretty penny

i've got 4x4 saff just been on rr it made 330 bhp & 400 lbs feet of torque at the wheels , so i think that works out around 400 bhp ish
the spec is
t34 , 63 rear housing
rs500 spec cooler
blacks ( 550 cc )
msd live map , coil pack conversion & closed loop lambda
it peaks around 36 lbs of boost
the engine internals are totaly standard even comp
hope this helps
ps it goes like stink

u just need a healthy engine to run 400 bhp with 55lb black injectors a good headgasket and a t38 as with todays fuel ect you have to bash the shit out of a t34 to get a honest 400bhp

to run a turbo such as a t4 gt30 for 450 then i think you will move into porting head as surge ect will become a prob

dependent on spec a T34 can do 400 no probs, Turbo Dynamics can get 400 from a T34.55 with a GT32 compressor wheel and a bit of fiddling, never mind a .63, imagine 420 possible on a .63, be ringing the bollocks off it though

No doubt he can get them though.

Rather than buy bits from all seperate people I'm sure he can just get everything you would need

I stand corrected then

I thought I read somewhere that he did, I did read though that Turbo Technics Warranty is excellent as they will cover their turbos even when they are being used on good power engines.

I have no idea if any other manufacturer has that policy or not

Turbo Technics were ok, struggled to get info when i needed on a turbo i had, took loads of phone call.

Turbo Dynamics are not only 5 miles down the road but when i phoned them about a turbo that i had bought while on the phone give me a full breakdown of the last rebuild, who built it, parts used, then took turbo down there for freshen up, turned it around in 2 days, gave me advice on best modifications at a later stage, chucked in all new free studs, gaskets, gave discount on pre turbo filter.
I just gone back there to get few bits done to the turbo inc different housing, re position the actuator mounting and put in a turbo hanger plate, bead blasted my supplied housing and the trousers, gave it a once over and i got change out of £50.

Spot on servce, they also emailed me the rebuild sheets with the test results

That is good service on their behalf

I got a second hand TT T38 from a guy I met, it hadn't been used but I wanted to know more so I called TT up and they also told me everything I needed to know, and also Turbo Technics are only 30 mins from where I live so makes sense for me to use them.

I'll find out if the turbo is any good when I actually get my car back so the engine can be fitted

I went for 7.5CR, ported head, bd14's, 83's and a universal T38.

Will see what it makes in about a year should easliy make the right side of 400 though.

Would deffo say in my experience go for a bigger turbo than T34.63

Mine made 406bhp on one,but turbo only lasted 6 months running 35psi peak,that was a 360 degree,staggered seal re-built unit

it was nick's from msd so stu might have helped with the engine work not 100 % sure though
