hello everyone got wireless broadband access at the ZUr Burg... how handy!!!!
right, been out 4 1/2 times today and LOVING it (the half was because the road was blocked from adenau to Nurburg so we took the ring instead )
managed a 45 minute lap with chip in the car, and it was one of the best laps ive ever had
now just to answer all your questions...
SiB - current status unknown (to me) last i heard thismorning sketch was bringing him a CPS, we left him about 50miles in to brussels at 5pm lastnight he's probably here by now, i just havent bumped into him yet he's just got some wiring gremlins, nothing major, but its stopping the car running
LouLou - turbo came away from the exhaust housing was repaired at the roadside, and by now theyve probably had it all back together properly as Nutter was bringing some bolts etc
RainBum - i HEARD he spat a shaft thismorning, dunno how true this is, but saw him driving in the oposite direction to me about an hour ago, so whatever he did/didnt do itd obviously ok now
Diva - did a shaft apparently the bits are arriving tomorrow to fix it
as for the track
someone was told by a marshall that someone burnt to death yesterday, there's a nasty burnt bit of grass down on one corner, looks nasty. dunno how true this is tho.
there was a nasty bike crash thisafternoon, bike is in a proper state, and was told by the marhsalls is was fatal (looking at the state of the bike, very beleivable)
only 3 closures sofar today, 1 in the morning (cause unknown) 1 in the afternoon because of the bike, and one in the evening caused by a golf that rolled

Don't think it's true - an R8 burnt out on track but apparently it was not due to an accident and the owner stood by and watched it go up.
A biker was seriesly injured in the last 10mins - possible fatal.
The rolled golf was at Aremberg - high speed left hander after a crest. It could have been a novice who didn't know there was a bend after the crest or someone pushing for a quick lap who just lost it at one of the worst parts to do so. Car a propper mess - if he had a passnger then they would be sriously injured.
It was certainly a crazy day - I didn't venture on until after 5 it was just silly - traffic jams to get on and off the track.

Thing is with that place is that people tend to go and think they're Sebastien Loeb or something and don't respect it for what it is and what it can possibly do to someone who's going daft.
When we went last year, I was just in awe of it's size and the gradients are unreal in some places.....you just have to be MEGA careful and have eyes all around you. Don't think you could drive it properly without doing hundreds of laps.
Hope the guys are enjoying themselves though

I was lucky enough to go out with some locals on both my visits, sub 9 min laps in a Golf is insane.
Whats better though is being shown all the white spots and other features for the correct lines, being warned of dangerous parts of the track and made aware of the bikers.
You always have to be mega careful though as there will always be something trying to get past which you need to react to before there sitting on your back bumper.
I bet there all having a awesome time, I'm very jealous
