Default PC -This any good?

Im after a new pc as my one at the moment is struggling even with games that are a couple of years old.

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...id=781&subcat=

Thats the one im thinking of getting, Dont really want to spend over £500 but could maybe stretch to £600 If im going to be able to tell the diffrence in games.

seems okay, first thing i personally would do though is dump vista and move back to XP Pro!
bit more RAM at some point and it seems good enough

Yeh ive been told not to bother with vista!
So you reckon it should handle most of todays games?

should do mate, as i say RAM would benefit from a bit more, but thats not that dear.
not sure on graphics, looks good on paper, but worth checking on the overclockers forum as it may not be as good in practise, not saying thats the case, but worth checking

I'd go for Vista, people may be slagging it off now but its always the same, everyone will have it eventually. Can't see the point of getting a new pc and getting XP.

Won't be all the long until the programs catch up.

Thats an "ok" pc, nothing to shout about but it will run new games and look good, dont expect to crank the settings up to "high"/ "maximum" though.
You will need another gig of ram, trust me for the cost of 1 gig of ram its well worth it, windows will run fast and smooth and games will run better on 2gigs.
You said you could stretch to 600 so just buy another gig of ram and slot it in yourself as it only takes a few mins

Also if you can build a pc yourself or know of anyone who can then it would be worth having one built as you will get alot more performance for your money

I have a Nvidia 7900GS graphics card and it plays any game on full settings BUT I do have 2Gb of G.Skill memory & a core 2 duo processor to go with it!

Yeah im not surprised, the 7900 series cards are very good when coupled with a decent processor/ram
