The P1 has suspension designed for UK roads.

It a far greater car than a jap STI IMO.

What he said - lovely cars and limited production run as well . Would rather have a P1 than the Jap equivalent .

P1 is a uk version of JDM Type R.No DCCD and few other bits that I've forgotton.

Very nice cars as well as the Type R.

Bit more rare as well.

Not really.......

Was tweaked for the UK by Prodrive.

It's still a STI under the skin barring a few bits.

They around anything from 260-300standard iirc.

Marty on SN has a 500bhp one,so they're capable of some power.

They did have alot to do with the development hence the name Prodrive1.

It's still an STI,just modded in places for the UK.

Pretty sure Mike can confirm this for me as well.

Here we Mr Brannen.

ˇ Subaru FAQ's and Buyers Guide

Subaru
Subaru is the name of a star cluster in the Taurus constellation, which is called Pleiades in the West. Six of its stars are visible to the naked eye, but about 250 bluish stars can be seen if o*ne uses a telescope. Credit for naming the company goes to Kenja Kita, the first president of Fuji Heavy Industries. As Fuji Heavy Industries had just taken over 5 of 12 companies resulting from the breakup of the old Nakajima Aircraft Company, Kita saw this unique name as the ideal symbol to express the unification of these 5 Fuji companies - "Subaru".

Subaru Tecnica International
Subaru Tecnica International (STi) was founded in April 1988 by Fuji Heavy Industries, Ltd. Its purpose was promote Subaru cars around the world by participating in motorsports. STi identified rallying and endurance speed records as two types of motorsports that Subaru should participate in. The newly launched Legacy set two world records and 13 international records in the 100,000km FIA World Speed Record in January 1989. The World Rally Championship project evolved from Subaru's involvement in Japanese rallying but became a full scale factory effort when STi joined forces with the British-based Prodrive company. The initial objective was to pose a serious challenge to the established manufacturer teams competing in the World Rally Championship.

Prodrive
Prodrive was formed in 1984 by David Richards and Ian Parry. In 1985 they formed their first motorsport team, the Rothmans Porsche Rally Team. In its first year it won the Middle East Rally Championship and came second in the European Rally Championship. In 1990, Prodrive began its rallying relationship with Subaru. In 1991 and 1992, Colin McRae was o*n top of the podium, winning 2 consecutive British Rally Championships in a Prodrive built Legacy RS. In 1993, the Prodrive prepared Impreza made its debut for the new 555-sponsored Subaru team in the World Rally Championship, taking second place in the 1000 Lakes Rally. The Prodrive-managed Subaru Rally Team captured the Manufacturers' World Rally Championship in 1995, 1996 and 1997. Driving a Subaru Impreza, Colin McRae won the World Rally Championship driver’s title in 1995. In 1999 Prodrive produced what most magazine called "The Best Impreza Ever", the Subaru Impreza P1. It was a road version of the rally Impreza, extensively modified by Prodrive and STi. Prodrive also manufactures many performance parts for a number of Subaru production models. Wheels, seats, exhaust systems and other components can be purchased at official Subaru dealerships in the UK and Europe.
P1

The Impreza P1 limited edition is based o*n the Japanese domestic market Impreza WRX Sti Type V. Developed and built by Prodrive for Subaru UK, each P1 has an individual car build number stamped o*nto a metal plate o*n the passenger side suspension turret in the engine bay.
Nb the “Phase 2” printed o*n this plate is to denote the fact that Subaru UK are the secondary Manufacturer and completed Phase 2 of the production process in the UK.
The modifications made to the exterior design of the car were overseen by Peter Stevens (best known as the designer responsible for the shape of the Mclaren F1 supercar and Subaru World Rally Championship cars). The front splitter and rear wing (with carbon fibre gurney flap) are unique to the P1 and, combined with the Prodrive-developed suspension settings, give the car a much more aggressive and distinctive stance compared with other contemporary Imprezas. Peter Stevens was also responsible for the unique design of the Prodrive/OZ Racing alloy wheels, basing them o*n the wheels used at the time by the Subaru World Rally Team.
All P1’s come in sonic blue and the number of cars was limited to 1000.
