am i right in saying though, stu can only remap the P8 big turbo escos ecus if fitted with the ford daughterboard, ( they don't have one as std ) the pectel boards, i believe only ahmed has the software for. don't think there is much in them difference , other than maybe the pectel board equipt ecus are "capable" or more things like ALS etc.

Nope.. i can map any of them.

It can only be done LIVE without the Pectel hardware though as the Pectel P8 system cannot be mapped live by anyone due to its encryption process.

Have you studied it Simon?

The software ONLY loads the map addresses into it and it only saves the map addresses to when your done editing, it discards the run software and thats encrypted to the individual gate array. You have to compile the 2 yourself when your finished.

Bizzare way. but it worked for them plainly

Yes, that is why it was done that way but as a side effect it doesnt load enough software into itself to run an engine either.

Yes, Dont forget but the processor at power up needs to know this and
is able to read this information and then the internal software the decrypts the
address pointers and map area scrambling as set by the PLD logic chips.
I ran the Encrypted program (as seen at the processor) on my ECU simulator
software and can locate addresses for this information quite easily.

At the end of the day, The board makes it uneconomical to reverse engineer
on a one of basis by the average engineer.

I dont know if you remember but I was selling this exact kit about
6 months ago and the owner can MAP P8 pectel board chips LIVE.
Unfortunately, it was bought by a private individual not a tuning company.

im quite interested in all this , mr bayjoo has told me certain things which i'n not doubting, but i think he has a vested interest in as he helped develop the software, so you have to go to him for stuff,

so stu, what could you do with my P8 with pectel board - am i best for a live map selling the chip and voard and having a custom one done to suit the car as is do you think..?

Top work indeed then Pal

But i stand by my statement that he cant have his P8 mapped live if using Pectel hardware as no-one who has the capability offers this service..

I didnt however know this capability did exist so il take this from you..

so.... does the pectel board offer any more functionality than what can be programmed by yourself stu? of is it just there for encryption?

Stu, I will dig out my old PC program for this and recompile it to run without
the real time emulator. Could sell it to you if it still works !

Dave Henshall, It is purely a security protection device except where it
doubles up to drive 8 injectors on that version.

Dave Henshall,
The S8 will have antilag features within the next few days !
It is currently being dyno tested.
All previous S8 ecu purchasers can upgrade to this version FOC.

As for adding it to existing P8 chips, ALS is not just a software switch on type
option and has to be mapped just like a normal tuning session.

As everyone should know, Nothing is computers is 100% secure.
Its just a matter of how much time and money you are willing to put in.

But dont forget it IS against the law to copy software BUT if you are
modifying it for the original customer who did not sign a software license
then the law cannot prosecute you provided you do not sell on the modified version
to a 3rd party.
How many people who bought a chip or have their car mapped signed such an agreement.

Yes, plus it will allow stuff like boost levels, rev limits to be set within
safe pre-defined limits. Give me a few days as I will be posting a HUGE
artical/thread about this product.
Cant do it yet otherwise everyone will want it yesterday.
Needless to say before you ask - availablity during next month !
