By happy coincidence, I've literally just looked on the windowsill and found an old Fast Car book from April '95 with the red S2 in it, in a shootout against a Bailey-prepped S1.

Red one (Powell's) is quoted at 290bhp, puts in a 156.6mph run, and a 5.9 to 60, with a 14.3@108.7mph

Bailey car is quoted 270bhp, 142mph, 6.8 to 60, 14.6@109mph.

Figures tested on the day by FC.

they use to have a red S2 mid 90s 0-60 5.7 0-100 11.0 157 top speed 1.6 cvh so they reckon
Gaaables and Demondave used to own that car, G** CPJ, its still over here on the Island, was up for sale on ebay a while back, now has a green pearl/red paintwork.

When the engine was stripped down it had a very out shape Pace i/c on it and 2 extra injectors plumbed in...

I think Power Engineering still have a massive poster of the car on the front of Max Pooer on the wall of their r/r

The white rst that is still a v. quick car, ran the 11.9 has a funny story, it didn't do it at santa pod for a start(which has the best timing gear), this is what allegedly happenend

1, the jet car did a run but abborted half way and free wheeled over the line,

2 the next car, a certain white and green rst then did it's run

3 white and green rst then comes back with a ticket showing 11.9

Now, I'm not saying that a front wheel drive car, a good few years ago before ALS, Cossie management, and even bigger intercoolers was around, couldn't manage this amazing feat, but what if he picked up the jet cars ticket "By accident"?
anyone else heard this, I heard it from a mate who sometimes posts on here( and his missus does) and he is pretty much in the know with anything 1/4 mile.
Your thoughts?

use to no nathan very and even he said the 11.9 was a timeing error as a renault 5 ran a 9.something so dont believe everything u read or see Fastest it ran to "his" knowledge was a 12.9.

Did a drag thing with lax power years ago and he only beat my m8 he did a 13.43 and nathan did 13.40 and because it was a lax power bigged up car it got all the glory

Race fuel is fine and i cant see why you guys are bantering over it. Its not as if it adds HP, all it does is prevent detonation, nothing more.

Doug you will be recieving a PM from me shortly, ive finally found someone who can shed some light on something ive been trying to find a lot out about.

alloy - race fuel does aid horsepower figures, it enables much more ignition advance to be used than on pump fuel BEFORE detonation takes place... Cheers,

funnily enough, ive just bought an engine off someone on here and ive got 2 recepts and 2 RR print outs from Power Engineering with that Reg.....if it is the same exact reg(if the 2 numbers are the same) the print outs ive got only show 173 and 186 bhp

I would agree with you a bit on that, it aids power because it is more consistant etc, but i don't think it would actually add horsepower.

back to the white s2 with the green stripes...good few years ago when i was at school and too young to know max power was a load of old bollox i remember reading an article where they had said white s2 and a load of supercars, ferrari, lambo, porche 911, tvr cerbera and something else i think. anyway the s2 pissed all over everything except the tvr. does this give anyone an idea how fast it would run the 1/4's? and also if i remember rightly didnt it have green stickers down the bottom of the door saying it had 275 odd bhp and whatever the torque was..? not saying its right but the cheek if its not!!

Doug, you have a PM from me now.

As for the Severn Valley Motorsport doubters, they must be doing something right if their yellow Ka is high up in the top 100 cars list, and i mean high as in like second place i think it is. They are also often reccomended in FastFord, something that wouldn't be done if it was a shite company.

Elwynn Powel sold the S2 to a guy from brixton in london who incidently "REMOVED" The 286bhp power plant amongst other goodies from the car and fitted them in to a cabriolet which was later petrol bombed and destroyed

Sorry but if you base your tuner on Fast Fords top 100 cars, i think you need help

Its a bit like when people say the Zonda has 4 tailpipes, so the four i've fitted to my fiesta must be doing something useful

Hmmm, i don't think i even mentioned what magazine the top 100 cars was out of!

I did mention the SVM was often reccomended in FastFord, but nothing more after that...

BTW, can anyone tell me if Severn Valley Motorsport's yellow Ka was ever magazine featured?

If so, what magazine was it in, and how long ago was it?

SV Ka was in Fast Ford Aug/Sept/Oct 1999 I think.

Also Fast Ford recommend plenty of companies that people have had loads of problems with. I used a so called "reputable" Fast Ford company, and I got a crap job, so I demanded he redo the work to a decent standard or give me a refund, he said he'd redo the work and then promptly disappeared with some parts of mine never to be seen again. Wanker!

No a "company" called Autodynamics run by a wanker called Gavin Clarke.

He had a bright pink S2 in Fast Ford with mental styling and big install/interior. Fast Ford recommend these people and then you get ripped off. They never bothered printing my letter saying how I'd been done!

Roger Sports not the best either then?

The yellow ka was first featured in lax power ( it had 17's on and normal headlights) then it was featured in Fast car in its best spec (19's, puma headlights. 450bhp engine + 150bhp NOS).

Did it not have the 450bhp spec when it was featured in Max Power?

Also what year and month was it featured in Fast Car?

I will also try and find out about the FastFord feature too...actually, just thinking, is it possible one of you are getting mixed up between FastFord and Fast Car? Or was it featured in both?
