335d vs M5 e39
on the e90post forum which i have joined not long ago a few guys were saying they have beaten e39 m5 in there 335i i personally coudlnt see that myself considering the e39 m5 is 5.0 litres of pure v8 with 400 +bhp
but
yesterday i came across one, Y plate 2001 and i thought i woudl give it a try expecting to get cained
didnt happen, three times we floored it from around 40mph to well over a ton the gap remained constant at about a car length, i was soooo impressed, think he was pissed off cuz afterwards i flashed and thumbed up but he didnt want to acknoledge me PMSL
few people also on this other forum have said they have quartered in 13.5 along side a m5 which has done the same.
who woudl have expected a diesel to stay with an m5
bring on the re-map!!!

lol doubt it mate, no other 5 series model would stay with it anyhow
also it would have been convincing reppy with mirrors and exhausts too
like i said the US boys have found the same

I used to work at the local BMW dealership but left 6yrs ago, i pop in now & again to see peeps if a need some bits etc & one of the technicians was saying that the torque is unreal on the 335TD he says people that are waiting for new M5's are buying these instead, can't see it myself but thats what he said.

its the torque ur diesel will pull alot faster at lower revs, u get to higher than 100 and u will start loosin esspecially if he's got the 155mph restrictor off, if u went from a stand still i dnt know i reckon he might win!! only one way to find out

I think some of you guy's should drive a modern diesel, my 730 dl with it's tuning box is nearly as quick as my RS and there's no messing about getting the revs up it's got nearly 500 flbs from 1200 revs.

I have an E39 M5, and I had a play with a 335i Petrol (not a diesel so far).
He did quite well to be fair, but as the speed built, the advantage that I had over him began to finally make itself shown (though not by much LOL)
Mind you, after the first bend, he was fucked! No LSD in these 335is (diesel or petrol!!!!). Happy to prove my point with you on a twisty road, chappie

also i was with wiht easy to well over the ton, maybe from 130-140 onwards it woudl pull away, this handles like a dream anyhow round bends and im sure could do much better with an lsd, but i wwouldnt count it out round a track against a big top heavy 5 series

pon you silly fcuk, i posted up the day we picked it up you peanut
never once said it was mine
i just love the fact im driving it
regardign e46 m3 there lovely,
surely tho an e39 m5 is faster than the e46 m3? so therefore the 335d shoudl be with it easily
and once remapped will be really good
PON your comment is so silly, why woudl i try pass it off as my own, is that something you would do?
