Default Identifying Cossie ECU?

Hi,

I recently bought a 2WD Saff to break for parts for my MK2 Escort.

The car has a 4x4 engine fitted, I am trying to find out whether the ECU and loom has been changed. Is there any way of identifying the different ECU models?

The outside of it is a bit scratched so there isn't really any codes on it.

I have taken the lid off - any easy way to tell from here?

Thanks, Rodge

If it has a baby board, then it is a L8 or newer. If not, then it will be a L1 or a L6.

Not definitive, but also, the L6 and earlier have the screw lugs on either side to fix to the upper bracket. They dont use this on the L8s

Thanks, it does have the screw lugs on both sides, can't see a babyboard either.
