Default rs2k 4x4

im thinking of buying an rs2k 4x4,

im just wondering wether there strong cars really, and wether the 4x4 system can take alot of power?

and are they good cars to "launch" or do bits break easy on them?

thanks

from what I have seen the 4x4 system seems very fragile and spares are not easy to find, check rear chassis legs and rear arches for rot,
saying that my m8 has one and is has been very reliable and has had no major probs in the 2 years he has owned it.

it'll have a lot of performance upgrades....i.e...turbo charged

and really im just intrested to see wether the 4x4 system will be able to take it, or wether there is any where that can upgrade the drive train to somethin abit stronger??

im just after the 4wd for the better traction off the mark,

i dont want to be sitting the with the front wheels spinning

the 4x4 system on RS2000's is awfully weak and very difficult to get replacement parts... I would be careful about buying one.

If you put a question up on there, i'm sure you should get some responses before you go to view the car.
I've had my 4x4 for 18 months and not had a tiny bit of trouble, i love the car to bits! But there again, it's only used day to day, and i was never intending on doing any power upgrades, so can't help you there!

If you wanna turbo charge it ,I wouldnt bother as above the 4x4 system is shocking and breaks if abused.

The 2wd is much better IMO ive owned 4 of the 2wds so far and they are a very reliable car..

dont stay away mate, ive got one myself and they are good cars i launch the shit out of mine quite often and no problems, there have been a few transfer box failures and yeh they are expensive to replace if u can find the parts but they can handle decent amounts of power if looked after, have seen one with over 200bhp lasting fine and a 300bhp turbo one was ok until it was misued and broke,

find the right one and look after it and u will be fine

I owned one and it was a fast car, faster than a hell of a lot of
my other rs's due to the fact,i don't drive in straight lines.
down country roads/back lanes etc my rs2000 4x4 was mucho
faster than a 2wd rs2.
sold it to my mate who gave it what it was made for, and it never
broke,it just soaked it up.
as it is a rwd biased car they handle great and it would hang its arse
out around bends,re***y regards power it just needed a turbo.
but why bother when you can buy a escort cosworth
