..i dont think anyone recommends you run a GT series turbo on a yb without it being external wastegate.

Phil,

that is utter nonsense mate. There is no actual need for an external gate on a GT30

Marco Polo's GT30 is internal wastegate as supplied by Reyland

Speak to them as no doubt they can tell you what you need to know

I have a GT3076r with internal gate, APT`s ultimate internal gate in stead of the original garret one. Have high expectations for it, but havent tried it yet.

hi will the one on my car i cant really tell you anything because i haven't gave it any abause at all i will, once it's live mapped i dont have any serge issues when it comes on boost

it makes boost about the same time as my t34 with .63 but kicks twice as hard i have heard rumours they they do suffer from cracking the rear housing .............im not really botherd about that as long as it lasts a good while im happy nothing lasts for a long time in motorsport anyway i forgot to add the internal wastegate wont make as much power as the external one ..

the internal one is not as laggy as the external one, horse for causes and all that

you will have to show me next time at the RSOC meet at the greyhound mate, I was going to say hello Tues night, but I didn't get chance . Car looked stunning though. , although you might need to upgrade your brakes

You recon the GT30 is a good compromise then? thinking when I rebuild my escort it might be getting one

what are you after?

my gt30, made just over 500 bhp on road fuel on a engine dyno, @ 26 psi.

hits 30psi by 4000 rpm, and i still havent played with cam timin to improve that.

sounds exactly what I want , although I will have to enquire about a huuuuge midrange spike, as a 500BHP/500Lbs/ft engine would be ideal - just want a huge midrange, the BHP could be a bit lower if I gain the area under the graph on the torque

What rpm are you expecting to see 30psi, lower or higher than mine.

At a total guess here, I would say it's because he runs a big-wing gated sump, and if you use a dipstick it stops a gate working, so you have to use a blanking cap and just use the std dipstick whe you want to check the oil

Hi Euan

Wil is right i use a 7.5 litre gated system touring car sump and if i leave the dip stick in it stops one of the gates from opening , i just use another cut down dip stick and a dummy
