I have ordered a PS3 from play.com yesterday and was amazed to be told that there was no problem with stock and it would be delivered tomorrow, is this likely or am I being suckered?

no mate, places like play and game havnt fullfilled there pre orderers, so imo you will get it tommorow.

a lot of people think that, but tbh, there pretty much the same, one or two little changes. like there was a rumour that they had taken out the backwards compatabilty with ps2 games, which was going to be the major difference, but sony announced 2 days ago that the eu ps3 will be able to play 72 percent of ps2 games, as far as i know, that was the only major difference, but that isnt the case now anyway. the only other major difference is the price, there about Ł220 in japan compared to Ł425 here.

Andy im not surprised to be honest, i preordered a new pc game a week before it came out and i was lead to believe play.com were excellent at stocking/delivering brand new things on time(or even before releases date some people told me?) but it ended up being 4 days AFTER release so i just downloaded said game from the net and canceled my order
But on a more positive note i ordered a pc game last friday and it arrived on the monday, and also ordered Casino royale on the same day(that wasnt out till monday) but i got it yesterday so that wasnt too long a wait

He would probably get one quicker by turning up to a shop tomorrow yeah, id say see if you can get one from town tomorrow morning(or 12.00 tonight if your that desperate) and if you do get one just cancel your play.com order

HMV have there own plane flying out of Guernsey today full of PS3's! hope it doesn't crash lol! HMV have confirmed they definitely have enough to be able to walk in tmw at 7am (local branch) and collect one with out pre-ordering!

I have cancelled my play.com order and ordered another from game.co.uk as their website quite clearly stated buy now guaranteed delivery March 23rd however these frikkin numpties have no phone number, sent an email and had no response and the website no longer says guaranteed delivery, ffs

Just go into town really early in the morning and go round all the shops(woolworths,hmv,game, etc) you should have all the normal ones being in a big place like leicester, your bound to get one from somewhere mate

i preordered mine in store at game, they just phoned me to confirm my console games and hdmi lead can be picked up from when they open at 8am.

I ordered mine via game.co.uk and now they have despatched 3 of the four items e.g. HDMI cable, extra controller and F1 game but guess what no email with regards the console

they have said it might come tomorrow but if not saturday, I give up Joe will just have to wait

Play may get in trouble but Sony cant do shit to the delivery people unless they have been told what the parcels are and an exact delivery date in contract. In which case why dispatch with 24hr service on the 20th Just seems odd.

its the same reason ebay uk has removed all import ps3's from auction, becasue sony spat there dummy and didnt want any for sale in the uk untill the official release date, so the only one's on ebay are preordered ones, which obviously people cant send until they get them tommorow. so its nothing to do with the delivery company or play, they can not sell/deliver uk ps3's untill the 23rd.
