Hi,

I want to renew the Timing Belt and both multi belt's and Timing Belt Tensioner (or how you call them in English ) .

Is it recommend to change the Waterpump aswell? It's not leaking, but the engine did 100.000 Mile (I think the pump is never been replaced).

What is the best pump? And the price?

Any other things that are recommend to replace? And is it easy to renew those things?

Btw. it Concerns a T25 EsCos with Aircon (1995)

i would also not change the water pump until it needs to be changed. we have a saying in english - if it isn't broken, don't try to fix it - but you can ignore that and do some proper preventative maintenance if you like.

What if it seizes though? And the belts are knocked off? Ive always changed water pumps with cambelt kits as a matter of course. I assume this is not the case with the escos then?

that would be true of things like gm engines where the water pump runs off the cambelt, but that's not the case on escos. if it seizes, auxillary belt will slip, but no damage to valves etc (unless driven while water pump is faulty)

i've never had one seize. usually leak around the shaft seal first in my experience. if you know that it's been well looked after and had regular antifreeze changes, then i would leave it. if history unkown, impellor could be all shitted up and may be worth changing

once you have a price - and i have no idea how much or where from but would probably start at woodford - then you can make a decision

Ah right, ive mainly had vauxhalls in the past so thats where ive picked the habit up then. Thanks for that. For the sake of a hundred quid its probably worth doing it anyway though in my opinion, if not just for peace of mind.

I would advise you change the alternator belt tensioner and aircon belt tensioner at this age and mileage too
