Group-A ALS throttle body housings
Maybe a silly question but...
Why do they relocate the Air Temp sensor into the throttle body? Is there a particular reason?
Also silly question number 2
Are o-rings a superior seal over a gasket or it is because they are re-usable or something?

To prevent heat soak from the engine, and yes...lol
The rubber is to aid the swapping of any faulty parts quicky without having to scrape gaskets....same with the proper sump etc...all are done using 'o' ring material....

As has been said any times on here before Paul, cost is never an issue when they build these cars....
Everything is of the highest, lightest and strongest specification.....
You should come and have look pal...lol

I think he means re-useable to the extent of say a item being faulty in a rally it could be swapped between stages. I would guess a head gasket going pearshaped is going to put you out of the rally full stop..

Phil,
The literature from Mountune IIRC did say they could be used again and as there is nothing to compress actually on the gasket, and assuming mating surfaces were true you would have no problems, but we change them everytime we rebuild regardless.....
Dont know about the cometic ones, as we only use Mountune versions....
