i've been searching all over
dealerhas quoted about 3 different figures
some websites going on about "lifetime" chains, providing oil changed on schedule, never needs doing!
but one web site says it is an "interference" engine, so if the chain does break, everything breaks!!!

nearly all engine are "interference" (horrid term).
Chains are designed not to need replacing as part of general servicing.
BUT
That doesn't mean they last forever!
for example: wheel bearing don't last the life of the car but there is no specific service interval

if it has any slight un easyness at idle then change it anyway, they used to stretch for fun on the old P11 144 models ( i worked for nissan for over 10 years till they sold out to the french )
