"Beer, beer, Smurfing beer, you don't get drunk, and it isn't dear".
Yes, that tape is in our loft along with several Barron knights tapes.

I have just converted those above to MP3
As they are still going strong still after 47 years I'd possibly breach a copyright or 2 if I posted them , but at 2MB each they could be emailed
http://www.barronknights.com/history2.html
They still do about 6 tour dates per month according to their website and spend Jan - March working in Australia

long ago, outside a chip shop in walthemstow
lived a young rocker called greasy joe
who got on his bike and said "lets go"
he was keen, off up the high st like barry sheene
where he met ann on her new machine
chorus:
running away togethor, running away in leather
ann and joe
running away togethor, running away in leather
ann and joe
they past the bloody tower, at 100 miles an hour
they was so amazed that tower bridge was raised
they raced up to the top, to find they could not stop
thery leapt right off the end and landed in the thames
hand in hand
all done to ABBA's ....Angelo
fook me, how sad that i even remember all the lyrics

Thought so....

It was way back in 1960 when 6 guys got together in Leighton Buzzard Bedfordshire to form a pop group based on vocal harmony. They called themselves the Knights of the Round Table but quickly realized it was too many words to put on a poster so for no other reason at all decided on changing the name to The Barron Knights. They spent two years travelling up and down the country singing in dance halls. Transportation was a 27-seater coach, which served as their hotel. 20 seats were removed and 7 beds were installed. Each night they made just enough money to pay for the fuel to the next gig and a trip to the chippie.
