Some pics from Snowboarding!!
I got back from Austria earlier today, after an awesome week of Snowboarding and drinking in Saalbach! I have never known such crazy apres-ski
A weeks beer money for Austria
Anyway, I will spare you the random pics of my mates and the drinking ones, here are some snow related ones instead
The day we arrived it had been snowing pretty heavy all day, and carried on into the night, so we were mega excited for the first day, even the bottom of the slopes were looking pretty white:
(The resort is only at 1000m so snow can be iffy at the bottom at this time of year)
At the top there was a very thick covering of fresh powder everywhere:
We spent the first day exploring one side of the mountain and got a bit over excited with the off piste... First we nearly went flying off a cliff (one of my friends dived on the floor infront of me as we came through some trees to see the 50ft drop )
Then we went a bit far and had to trek back up the hill:
(Not much fun at the end of a very long day and the Camelbak had just run out )
We spent the next couple of days exploring the mountain as much as possible:
Every day just got hotter and hotter and so we tried to get as much boarding in as possible in the first few days whilst the snow was still fairly good, but the sun was soooo strong we were boarding in just T-Shirts a lot of the time!
By the end of the week the snow was deteriorating so we decided to build a kicker!
We spent a whole day chilling out in the sun, getting a tan and messing around on the jump...
They didn't all go to plan though
(I found out that icy crusty snow tears your arms to shreads and boarding in a t-shirt isn't a good idea )
But even after an entire week of seriously hot sunny days we still managed to get some good off piste in on the last day:
All the pics are of me by the way It's good to be on the other side of the lens for once

I do have them in high res, but a couple of them (that one included) were taken on my camera phone which is only 2 megapixel (1600x1200 I think) let me know if you still want it!

I've just got back from Bavia myself, spent the week skiing mainly. Towards the end of the week we spent most of the time on the Austrian slopes as the snow was fading fast, it was mostly slush in the afternoon. I did have a crack at snow boarding and it's fair to say it was harder than i thought it would be and it hurts a lot more when you cream in lol.

Cheers guys

I went to Saalbach / Hinterglemm in Austria!

I would definitely go back (although not until I had explored a few more resorts first)
I did the Shattberg Express black last thing on the first day... It was certainly tricky on the snowboard and especially after 7 hours of boarding beforehand
