Default t4 turbos - bentley arnage?

it's been a while since i had any involvement with bentley

i was just reading about the arnage T having recently changed from garrett turbo's to "42 % faster reacting" mitsubishi ones "with 52% less inertia"

was the T fitted with 2 T4's, or is it te R & RL that have a single T4?

I allways thought it was x2 T34's they had fitted bud. Got a lot of mates back home who work at Bentley. A good mate had fitted a Bentley spec T34 to his saph if you get me.

I can find out for definate next time i am home if you want. A bloke i knew a few years ago made the engines on the Conti GT but not sure what turbo's they run.

Just asked my Old man and he's sure they had a T4 on the old Turbo R but doesnt know if they Changed this for the Arnage T.

He also thought the Turbo R only had a single turbo. I told him the Arnage has 2, he said i havn't got a fooking clue then

They not T34 or T4s as we know them, ie they not the same as Cossie ones.

T34 and T4 means nothing really, just general designation for a rough turbo size.

An RS500 "T4" is a T3/4 too, large T3 sized exhaust, small T4 sized compressor.

Without seeing the exhaust manifold flange you wont know if they true T4 (id expect they are at least in single turbo form though), but the ones ive seen certainly have T4 sized compressor sides.

Small T4 size tho, like EscCos, RS500, and RS200, turbos.

T4 surely designates the exhaust wheel size. A t34 is a t3 framed turbo, the t4 on a 500 is larger everywhere.

the bits at each end are the important bit lol.

Does that make it a T3?

With GT's - at least the naming scheme makes sense!

No, T2/T3/T4/T6 (no such thing as T5 it seems) designates FRAME size, ie HOUSINGS.

Both EscCos turbos and RS500 turbos have T4 compressor sides and T3 exhaust sides.

Is the manifold flanges on them turbos T4 ones Rick?

Just RS500 ones are bigger than EscCos ones.

But both are some of the largest "T3" exhaust sides around, and some of the smallest "T4" compressor sides around. Some T4 compressor and exhaust sides are capable of over 1000bhp.

T04B is EscCos compressor housing isnt it? (ie 2.75inch in, 1.75inch out?)
T04E is RS500 one i think? (ie 3inch in, 2inch out).

As per what i said earlier, read my posts, i explain it all.

None are full T4s, but only the T3 is a T3 as such, the other two are T3/4s.

I even already explained the T4B/T4E thing earlier that Carl has just repeated again, but in more detail.

so can you convert a T3 into a T34 just by changing the housing?
