EsCos has two stage fans. First fan kicks in at around 93 degrees, second one a bit higher (I think Mike R mentioned 100 degrees)

Swap the switch for the Sierra one, BOTH fans then kick in at 93°C. Otherwise on track, the water temp stays around 100°C, due to the way the Escort's two stage fans are set up.

I'm guessing the sierra switch is a two pin jobbie instead of a four, so I'd wire the two grounds and two fan wires together?.

I've been informed my version Pectel board has a fan temp switch driver aswell

Going to test it tonight and hopefully my ECU will now control when the fans come on at 80-85 degrees

Do any other monitors offer that kind of service? IE Collins ones!!

As i know it does let you adjust the fueling etc in-car! (not that i EVER will be!! ).

If memory serves me correct, pin 28 is usually the earth for the fuel pump in a normal ECU, but is used for the fans for the motorsport ALS version, which is why you have to have a seperate switched earth for the fuel pumps for this boad?

Depends what spec board you have, but would say no as you don't have the ALS feature

I've never done it before, but you just need an earthed switch to the brown and black striped wires, that way they will work even if you don't manually switch them on

OK bought a 2wd fan switch today (finis 7001614) luckily I had a female plug for this switch from my old Fiesta loom

Wired it up and it works mint! So no more fan worries

Interestingly in answer to my original question. the fan switches had the temps stamped on the side of the switches. 2wd has 75-87degrees stamped on it and 4x4 has 1:- 95 degrees 2:- 100 degrees

Also pin 28 didn't work on my Pectel board. It just made the fan be on constantly.. maybe the Pectel board needs to be programed for it? ie a temp value? I'll ask Ahmed when he looks at the car.
