Default So .. Heres where I'm up to with the bumper...

now just need to decide on how to proceed ...

Ive thought about just cutting the bottom bit out, but I dont think that will aid airflow drastically, so I'm after ideas..

This pic, it looks like the top part has been made bigger, but not sure

Any ideas or suggestions gratefully received!!

Thats Faye's cab, and yes, the top bit has been made bigger, by thinning the top "bar". And the bottom "bar" and "divider" have been removed.

I would do that, and maybe go so far as to thin down the centre "bar" a bit to the size of the plate....

It looks like the part the number plate sits on has been thinned down...

Got any tips on how to do this effectively?

Nah, I'd say it's the standard size, but more of an illusion cos of the other missing parts....

I cut the entire front section of my bumper out, and after doing that, I made up templates from 6mm MDF, then glass fibre'd them to the bumper to make them into "panels" if you like. Lots of glass fibre over the top, then hours of snading down, the result was spot on. Completely smooth, perfectly blended, and it almost looked "OE".

Cool!

Thats why I decided to keep the 'foam' to the sides, the foam Ive cut out is the width of the intercooler, so maybe I could use the foam to fibreglass to?

Or shall I just KILL THE LOT

Thanks for the replies Thrush, appreciated m8

The bit the Number plate sits on has been made thinner as the top hole on mine is bigger i had it dropped down so it was level with the height of the bumper as it sits under the headlights if ya get me? Hard to explain You can't see it that well in that pic will try and get a dead center pic if i can get on Alex's pc as there all on there lol

Some good suggestions, need some definites that are gonna be easy for me tomorrow

Still like my idea...

tell me how i can improve it!!

I think this will be easiest as doesnt require the whole bumper painting and will definitely serve its purpose

You need to be abit more specific Stu! What exactly are you wanting to do mate?

Chop it straight out? Don't think that will look right at all!

Not going to be worth it, cutting top bar will do next to nothing...

Karl reported acts around the 80 degree mark, and said its imperative to modify the bumper..

Bear in mind also, Im not running your average 14psi of boost, im running in the 30's

Will carry on looking around..

Thanks for the replies!

if your act's are in the 80's then id forget about destroying your bumper to get a slight gain in airflow, you need a better intercooler, theres no way youll get the act's down that much to a safe level by cutting the bumper, you could take the fuckin bumper off and still not get into safe territory
what cooler you runnin anyway?

We are probably talking in the 80's when Karl had his foot flat out in 5th

Me, personally, I have never seen it go above 30

Running GRS Evo 4 intercooler.
