Not in the first year or so, definetly not
Ive just got a 55 plate, one owner with 23k on clock for Ł11,400
Just turned 14month old, Guy paid Ł23k + for it so lost have its value in justo ver a year.
Saying that i cant see it deprciating at that extend now, looking at prices
of 52 plate st still fetching good money.
But i recommend the car to anyone, ive had her a week and im in love

there are a ew people on here who's got one, they rave about them like they are the best things ever once you get them chipped
sounds like they have plenty of life left in them even after a few years of thrashing, but it's trying to find one with the stuff you want on it for the price you want to pay thats going to be the difficult one
did they do a 52 plate st tdci? as a comparrision, the normal 2.0d's were going for around the Ł4500-Ł6500 mark for a 52-53 plate when i was looking, with the 54 plate ghia x estate coming in at claoser to Ł8500
i got a 52 plate ghia x petrol auto for Ł3k so i was happy

From brand new hell yeah the lose like a stone! Tbh i would be wary as new model is on the way, or is it out now? So could have a knock on effect
However they are VERY nice cars!

I doubt they will put that engine in a focus tbh as it's totally different to a focus engine, i'd imagine the st tdci focus - if they do one - would simply be a tweaked 2.0 tdci focus with sporty wheels/suspension/bumpers.
The upcomming mondeo on the other hand, in the range theres a 130bhp diesel and thats as good as it gets, be interesting if it gets the 2.7 at a later date though since it's a ford engine afterall.

The 130 is bolted to a six speed automatic, the manual version is 140 and later in the year they will release the 2.2 unit which has 170BHP. In 2008 the ST version is a Volvo straight six turbo.
Well considering I've had my Mondeo for over a year and done 18,000 miles and it has lost roughly Ł1300. So I would say they hold their value, just not in the first year.
