hi guys and gals
Having trouble with my wireless, basically the router and modem is on a computer in my house, my pc is in my room, connected with a belkin USB wireless adapter, and my mum uses her laptop which has a wireless card built into it.
Basically, I switch my computer on it says connecting to network etc.... It will then say connected, so i open up Internet explorer, and nothing. So i right click the connection box (next to the clock at the bottom of the screen), and click repair. It says disabling wireless adapter, then enabling, connecting to the network, then it freezes when it gets to renewing IP address. If i leave it for a couple of minutes it will say it could not connect to the network.
The only way I can get round it is to restart the computer up to about 5-6 times, until it will eventually work, and be trouble free for the rest of the day!
Anyone have any ideas as to what could be wrong?
Thanks in advance
Rich

On the laptop try removing all internet connection programs / settings
Then set up a new connection:
Control Panel > internet options > Connections > setup
hit Next, then Next, then choose setup my connection manually > Next
Then choose "connect using a broadband connection that is always on" > Ne xt > finish
Reboot
Try that
Then set up a new connection:
Control Panel > internet options > Connections > setup
hit Next, then Next, then choose setup my connection manually > Next
Then choose "connect using a broadband connection that is always on" > Ne xt > finish
Reboot
Try that
Same should apply, go into that connections tab an remove them all, set a new one up as above
Are you logging on with the same account that everythign was set up on? (assuming you are using XP)

Well i have tried uninstalling the connections as you said, but when i went to make a new one, it just says you cannot do this as you already have a broadband connection set up
So i re-installed the belkin software and the same is still happening. I'm getting this error message

What does it all mean?!?!
